ASSIGNMENT #4: PORTRAIT SERIES

Maud

Collecting human moments that give birth to life through the lens. Maud seeing beauty in the Church, in restaurants, in hotels, and in nature.

Maud is a Renaissance woman interested in a wide range of fields.  She was selected for this portrait series because she is multi-faceted.

Her educational background is in international relations.  Since she was in her teens, she was drawn to architecture, design, and fashion.  The photos of her at the Saint Sofia’s Greek Church, restaurants and hotels reveal that part of her character. One of her favorite designers is Hermes for its colorful scarves.

She goes to several restaurants and enjoys French, Greek and Italian food.  She wore her classy, green outfit at Mykonos Grill in Rockville, MD.

One of her hobbies is oil painting.  If you were to visit her home, you would be amazed by her paintings of Washingtonian and Parisian monuments.  She also draws polo horses and West Highland terriers.  Whenever a Westie walks by, she gets all excited and remembers Romeo, her best pet friend.  In addition, she plays tennis and ping-pong.  When Engelbert Humperdinck, Tom Jones, Michael Bubble, Diana Ross, and/or Julio Iglesias are in town, she attends their concerts.  She is even up to date with Drake and The Weekend!

On her birthday, she was surprised with a black chocolate, heart-shaped cake. She always says that “dark chocolate is excellent for its antioxidants.” She knows, however, that she has a sweet tooth.  She visits pastry shops on a daily basis – from La Durée, to Tout de Sweet, to Christophe, and more.

For her friends’ birthdays, she goes all out and have the driver pick up the birthday party friend in an ambient limo.  It’s her way to express appreciation for a beautiful friendship.  The very special ride allows the birthday party goers to savor the city lights by night.  More importantly, she likes to celebrate her friends’ life with special effects.

The photos feature Maud at different locations.  The shots vary from low to high angle, distance, close, contrast, etc.  But not too close as Maud’s eyes have become sensitive to light…
